activities nearby include: rock fishing, surf casting, golf,
hovercraft tours, boat charters at Houhora harbour or sand
surfing..
- to name just a few!

The
Far North beaches are great for collecting shellfish. Malcolm
and Robyn know all the best spots where the locals go to
collect mussels, tua tua, paua (you might know it as abalone)
or crayfish, so just ask!
Even though Henderson Bay is a well-known surf beach it
is a great beach for all the family. There are plenty of
spots where the kids, big ones too, can boogie board or
swim.

For
the fisherman the Far North has excellent game fishing and
charter vessels are available for hire with some companies
supplying all the fishing gear you will need for the outing.
There
are hiking trails well marked for the keen hiker, but if
you fancy not walking you could try horse riding through
Te Aupori Forest, down 90 Mile Beach or around Sprits Bay.
